Born Horry County, he was a son of the late Guthry Hampton and Margaret Elliot Suggs. He was a member of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference and preached for 39 years. He served in churches in South Aynor, Hartsville, Pageland, Cameron, Greenwood, Hampton, Chesterfield and Aynor. He was a former member of the Aynor Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, Ernestine Allen Suggs; a son, Henry Suggs of Ruby; a daughter, Phyllis Johnson of Cheraw; brothers, G.H.

of Philadelphia and Edward Suggs Loris; and four grandchildren. Roosevelt Jenkins, ex-Allen trustee GARNETT Services for Roosevelt R. Bledsoe, wife of the late Ike Bledsoe died Saturday, April 16, 1994. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late John Claude and Mary Vanadore Murphy. She was graduated from Anderson College and Winthrop College and was a teacher and librarian at Whitmire High School for 39 years. She was a member of the Association of Librarians and First Baptist Church. Surviving are sons, Ike Jr.

He was executive board member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Association, Congaree Union and Sunday School Convention and was an employee of Westvaco Lumber Co. as mill floor manager. Phillips; sons, John Phillips of Windsor, and David Phillips Jr. of New Briton, daughters, Gloria Ransom of Sacramento, Vernetta Guess of Orangeburg, Susie Jones of Detroit and Theresa Williams of St. Matthews; brothers, John Phillips of Greensboro, N.C., and Gene Phillips of Los Angeles; sisters, Lottie Mayes of Paterson, N.J., Justine Richardson of Santee, and Blondell Glover of St. Matthews; and seven grandchildren.
